Desty (Mrs. Pumpkin!) started baking in her grandmother's kitchen when she was 5 years old. Gigi's Pumpkin muffin recipe was a favorite.

Twenty-five years and three children later, Desty and her husband Don, began baking in the basement of their home in Tobaccoville, North Carolina. Fresh breads, cakes, pastries, muffins, cookies, and delicious gourmet Belgian chocolate brownies were produced for her wholesale customers.

As the business grew, the basement no longer accommodated their dreams and aspirations. They moved out of the basement and into a neighborhood shopping center.
